Create new notes, easily edit existing notes, efficiently manage your notes, easily find the notes you need; these are the main bits of functionality you can expect to get from Patrizio Bekerle’s QOwnNotes - a free, open source, and cross-platform notepad application that plays nice with ownCloud.

The fact that QOwnNotes is cross-platform means that it is available for computers that run Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Focusing on Microsoft’s Windows operating system alone, it must be mentioned that QOwnNotes does not have to be installed. To get started with QOwnNotes on a PC, you must download an archive, extract its contents, and then run the QOwnNotes executable.

From top to bottom, you will see the following on this application’s interface: a File Menu that you can use to create new notes, remove notes, quit QOwnNotes, and so on; a toolbar with buttons to create a new note and toggle Edit Mode (said toolbar can be hidden out of sight and it can be dragged and dropped to another location on the interface); a search box that can be used to find notes; a notes list panel on the left hand side; select a note and its contents will be displayed on the right hand side.

As mentioned at the start, QOwnNotes is free and open source software. Regular users can enjoy it for free for as long as they want. Developers and programmers can get the source code and play with it.

There’s much to like about QOwnNotes: it is available for multiple platforms, it has a simple interface, it helps you create and manage notes, it is free and open source, it is compatible with the notes web-application of ownCloud and mobile ownCloud notes applications.

Go get QOwnNotes an enjoy a free, feature rich, and user friendly notepad application.

QOwnNotes is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. You won’t have to install QOwnNotes to use it on a Windows PC. You will quickly figure out the interface. Use QOwnNotes to create new notes, edit existing notes, and remove the notes you no longer need. QOwnNotes plays nice with ownCloud.

None that I could think of.
